Rare earth permanent magnet

NdFeB magnet is a member of rare-earth permanent magnet, and it is the most powerful permanent magnet in the world. Because it is mainly composed of three kinds of materials, neodymium (Nd) iron (Fe) and boron (B), so it is called neodymium iron boron, it is also called neodymium magnet or magnetic steel. NdFeB is the third generation of rare-earth permanent magnet, and its excellent magnetic and cheap price make it widely used. It is the most commercialized rare earth permanent magnet at present.

NdFeB grade

N35, N38, N42, N38SH... What does that mean? Neodymium magnet is made of all materials made by them. As a very general rule, the higher the grade is, the stronger the magnet is. The highest grade neodymium magnet has the existing N52. Any of the following grades refers to the temperature level of the magnet. If there is no grade below the letter, NdFeB magnet is the standard temperature. Neodymium iron boron magnets are mostly composed of neodymium, iron and boron, and neodymium is easy to oxidize. If there is no plating layer it will rust and oxidation, and decay. We can make zinc, nickel, gold, silver, black nickel, epoxy resin and other kinds of electroplating for magnets. For all kinds of coatings, nickel is the most common and usually preferred. The actual three coating of nickel plated magnets is nickel, copper and nickel. These three coatings make our magnets more durable, rather than the more common single nickel magnets. Our gold-plated magnet is actually a four pole plated top coating of nickel, copper, nickel and gold.


Nd-Fe-B materials are brittle and easy to peel and crack. Therefore, it is not suitable for machining materials without machining experience. Processing the magnet will generate heat. If not carefully controlled, it will affect the magnet and even ignite toxic substances when burning. It is suggested that the magnets do not be machined.


NdFeB has high coercivity and is not easy to demagnetization. The maximum working temperature of the ordinary N NdFeB magnet is 80 C, and when it reaches 80 C, the magnetic property will lose irreversibly. Its Curie temperature is 310 degrees.
