The buzzer has a wide variety of specifications. It needs to know a few parameters (voltage, current, drive mode, size, connection / fixed mode), and, of course, the sound (the size of the sound pressure, the frequency).

Working voltage: electromagnetic buzzer, from 1.5 to 24V, the piezoelectric type from 3V to 220V is feasible, but generally it is recommended that there is a voltage above 9V to obtain a larger sound.

Consumption of electric current: the voltage of the electromagnetic type varies from dozens to hundreds of amperes. The piezoelectric type will save more electricity, and a few amperes can operate normally, and when the buzzer starts, it needs to consume about three times the current in a moment.

Driving mode: two kinds of buzzer have self-excited type, as long as the direct current (DC) can be sound, because the drive line has been built in the buzzer, because the action principle is different, the electromagnetic buzzer should be driven by the 1/2 square wave, the power use square wave, can have better sound output.

Size: the size of the buzzer will affect the volume, the frequency, the minimum of the electromagnetic type from 7mm to the maximum 25mm, and the piezoelectricity from 12mm to 50mm or more.

Connection mode: generally there are DIP, Wire, SMD, and the way of locking screws.

Sound pressure: buzzer is often used as a test standard at 10cm distance. The distance is doubled, it will probably attenuate 6dB, and if the distance is doubled, it will increase 6dB, the electromagnetic buzzer can reach the level of 85dB/10cm, the piezoelectric type can be made loud, the common alarm, mostly made with the piezoelectric buzzer.
